GanttPRO users can have different levels of access and permissions (i.e. project rights) in different projects.
Find below how to:
- Change rights for existing project participants
- Grant rights to a newly invited project participant
- Set default rights to newly invited project participant
- Create Custom rights (for Enterprise users)
How to configure rights for existing project participants
An Account Owner can configure Project Rights for any account users in any project.
To do that from the People tab:
1 Open this tab in the corresponding project.
2 Select the required project right for a user from the drop-down menu.
To do that from the Team and resources section:
1 Go to the Account settings, and open the Team and resources section.
2 Click on a particular user, to open the User card.
3 Select the required project right for a user from the drop-down menu.
Account Admins can also configure rights under certain conditions. They can only do it in relation to projects they are part of. And they have to be either a Project Owner or Project Admin in terms of project rights.
Enterprise plan users with Custom rights can also change project rights if this option is enabled for them.
How to grant rights to a newly invited project participant
Users that have access to the Team and resources section, can assign project rights from there. For that:
1 Go to the Account settings, and open the Team and resources section.
2 Click on Invite by email.
3 In the emerging window, configure Project access for the invited person.
4 Click on Send invitation.
Note that in this case, the invited user is granted the default project rights.
In the same way as described above for the Team and Resources section, users that have access to the People tab can grant rights in a particular project from there.
There are two ways to do that: configure permissions to a current account user that you invite to the project or to a new user you invite to the account.
To configure the rights of a current account user that you invite to the project:
1 Open the People tab in a project.
2 Click on Invite users.
3 In the Choose from the team tab, select the account user.
4 Configure this user’s Project rights.
5 Click on Add.
To configure the rights of a new user you invite to the account:
1 Open the People tab in a project.
2 Click on Invite users.
3 Switch to the Invite new by email tab.
4 Enter the invited user's email.
5 Configure this user’s Project rights.
6 Click on Send invitation.
How to set up default rights for a newly invited project participant
By default, a user is given Advanced Member rights.
To change that, just go to Account settings and click on Project rights 1. From there, you can choose a different type of rights from the drop-down menu 2. This will be a default option when someone is invited to a project.
How to create Custom rights
Enterprise plan users may create Custom rights configuring available permissions at their discretion.
This can be done in the Project Rights section of the Account settings:
1 Click on +Create sign.
2 Enter the name of the Project right.
3 In the drop-down menu, choose the right that will be taken as a basis.
4 Click on Save.
After that, click on the three dots 1 near the Custom right you have just created, and select Edit rights. That way you can configure with the toggle buttons 2 all the available rights in the project. Once you are done, click on Save 3.
To delete this right, click on the three dots near its name again and select Delete rights. To rename a Custom right, just click on its current name and add a new one.
Note that, it is also possible to select the Custom rights you create as the ones that will be assigned to new users by default.
