My tasks tab is another way of organising, managing, and monitoring tasks in one place. Within it, you can:
- See all the tasks from all the projects that are assigned to a certain resource and their total number.
- Have quick access to all the tasks from all the projects that are assigned to you.
- See milestones.
- Find particular tasks using Filter.
- Export tasks.
To open it, click on My tasks 1 on the left sidebar. This will open a table with a list of tasks without a Gantt chart. By default, three parameters are activated that bring to view your incomplete tasks. Tasks will be filtered by Assignee (that is you) and by Status 2 (Open and In Progress), and also sorted out based on their start date from the latest to the most recent.
If you click on Clear in Filters 3, these filters will be discarded and you will see all the tasks from all the projects. To get back to the list of your incomplete tasks, simply click on Incomplete tasks 4.
You can also configure how tasks are sorted out. If you just click on the column name, your tasks will be sorted out based on it. Then, if you want to change the order from ascending to descending and vice versa, you can click on the field name once again.
Fields
There is also a possibility to choose which fields you want to see in My tasks tab. By default, the following fields are on:
- Task name
- Project
- Start date
- Assigned
- Status
To add other fields or hide some, click on the + sign or Custom fields button 5 and check the boxes for those fields you want to display.
Overdue tasks
In the My tasks tab, you can also see Overdue tasks. Enable the corresponding icon 6 and you will see all the tasks whose due dates have already passed, but their status is still In progress or Open. They will be highlighted in red.
List format
In the My tasks format 7 you can choose the way, you would like to sort your list. You can choose one out of three options: list, WBS, grouped list.
The option Grouped by is chosen by default. If you choose the Grouped list, you will see a button Grouped by 8 that will allow you to group resources by status, priority, assignee and custom field.
Note: you can group only the following custom fields types: List, Color, Multiselect, People and Labels.
View settings
In the View settings 9, it is possible to choose how you want to see closed tasks in the list and which grid view you prefer. You can switch off strike through and greyed out for closed tasks. You can also decide if you would like to see the task type on the left of the task.
Note: to all your lists in the account can be applied their personal customization, which will not be synchronised with other views.
Export
Finally, you can export 10 a list of tasks from My tasks tab as an Excel file. During the export all fields or added fields can be chosen. If you select Export added fields option, then only added at the moment fields will be exported to Excel.
